The Leather Quilt Project
Mr. Chicago Leather 2005 and ONYX - Chicago
Vice president, Jeff W. is launching The Leather Quilt Project.
“The Leather
Quilt is dedicated to bridging our Leather past, present
and future by including representation of people
and organizations on one quilt. Like our community, this
quilt will grow and change by depicting our continuing presence
as a tribe. Whether the people and organizations are still
with us or not, whether they have done great things or simply
impressed or mentored one person, I think it is important
we share who they are and what they mean to us on a personal
level.”
As a companion
to the quilt, Jeff will also be accepting profiles and
stories relating to those included on the quilt. “Each
square will measure 18 ½ X 24 ½ and can be
purchased from Charles Cole owner of Caliber Leathers here
in Chicago along with a donation of $75 will be go to various
charities.
We have a listing
of charities that will be posted to our upcoming website.
In the meantime if you wish to purchase
a square, have a list of the charities or add your charity
to the list contact me at leatherquilt.@yahoo.com.”
